All Vitelco Leather’s products are traceable, from fresh calfskins or our finished calf leather. For each batch, we can identify the veal farm which housed the calves. Because we control the entire process, we can guarantee quality, origin and a sustainable and animal-friendly approach. As a customer, you therefore always know where you stand.
We support and control the entire supply chain from the moment the calves arrive at our veal farms. This ensures good operating results and gorgeous, traceable veal and calfskin leather products.
We work hard to make our skins individually traceable. We can already indicate for each batch exactly where the skins came from, but our aim is individual traceability. We are currently testing various systems to achieve this.
Having our own slaughterhouse and tannery will enable us to achieve individual traceability. In this way, we will be able to contribute to a sustainable leather industry.
The mediating role of our parent company allows us to add value to all our partners in the supply chain. We can provide support and guidance to veal farms with respect to monitoring the quality of the skins, feed, stall layout, the climate and any treatment the calves require.
Vitelco Leather is also in direct contact with its slaughterhouse. Together we ensure that the skins are sent to the tannery in the best possible condition. This is reflected in the high quality of our calfskin leather products. Because we control the entire supply chain, we know exactly what we can offer you so you can rely on a consistent and continuous supply of top quality calf leather.
PALI Group, Rompa Tanneries (now Vitelco Leather) and chemical company Stahl united under the name ReVeal to bring complete transparency and traceability to the production chain of calf leather. The Dutch initiative, which took place on 2 November 2016, identified the various steps of the leather production: from calf to designer handbag.
